Cadetships
Cadetships provide students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while undertaking a degree. It is this combination of work and study that puts our cadets at the forefront of their careers within the accounting profession.
Due to our location in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, SRJ can offer students from in and around the area the opportunity to develop their career and go to university while still working close to home.
So what is a cadetship and who is eligible?
A cadetship offers the opportunity to undertake a Commerce, Economics or Business degree majoring in Accounting while gaining valuable work experience.
The cadetship is available to anyone who is completing Year 12 in 2011 and commencing their accounting related degree in 2012. Cadetships are offered subject to the student gaining entry to university as well as meeting the selection criteria.
How are our cadetships structured?
The cadetship program is initially structured as a combination of full-time/ part-time work and part-time study.
How are our cadets paid?
We employ our cadets as permanent members of our team who generally work a little less than a full-time working week, allowing them time to attend university lectures. As employees, they are paid for the hours worked and accrue all normal entitlements.
What support do we provide?
While studying, the cadets have access to study leave, reimbursement of text books up to a maximum of $250 each year, the support of their mentor or buddy within their team and access to our internal training and development program.
Any questions?
If you would like to find out more information about the cadetships, there is an Information Session on Tuesday, 11 October at 7pm at our Strathpine office for St Pauls Year 12 students and their parents/carers. Please click to here to register.
